दूरारूढतपोऽनुभावजनितज्योतिःसमुत्सर्पणैर्
अन्तस्तत्त्वमदः कथं कथमपि प्राप्य प्रसादं गताः।
विश्रब्धं हारिणीविलोलनयनैरापीयमाना वने
धन्यास्ते गमयन्त्यचिन्त्यचरितैर्धीराश्चिरं वासरान् ॥२६०॥
अन्वयार्थ : जो अतिशय वृद्धिंगत तप के प्रभाव से उत्पन्न हुई ज्ञानरूप ज्योति के प्रसार से येन केन प्रकारेण इस आत्मस्वरूप को प्राप्त करके-जान करके-प्रसन्नता को प्राप्त हुए हैं तथा जो मन में हिरणियों के चंचल नेत्रों के द्वारा विश्वासपूर्वक देखे जाते हैं जिनकी शान्त मुद्रा को देखकर स्वभावतः भयभीत रहने वाली हिरणियों को किसी प्रकार का भय उत्पन्न नहीं होता है- वे ऋषि धन्य हैं। वे अपने अनुपम आचरणों के द्वारा दिनों को धीरतापूर्वक चिर काल तक बिताते हैं ॥२६०॥
Meaning : They have attained, with great effort, the happiness appertaining to their soul-nature by the spread of the light of knowledge that has appeared due to their constantly advancing austerities; they are seen with selfassurance by the flighty eyes of the she-deer, i.e., their figure does not engender fear in the mind of the naturally-fearful she-deer; glory to such revered sages. With their unparalleled ways of conduct, they spend, resolutely, their days and long years.
